well who knows when i'll do life drawing again so might as well put a nudity warning.
lemme do a abit of intro here.
i've known sganime for 5 years coming 6!
started drawing because i saw someone in my secondary sch drew some anime stuff.
so i thought to myself:
hey i think i can draw better lor
and soon i entered sganime. went to outings and started to take drawing more seriously. seeing so many dmd seniors (eg kujo, kunkka), i've decided to walk on the same path too hence i'm here!
shall post all my stuff here :xD:
been months since i've actually done any personal work at all.
however there was a time were i was really into sketching
i had a sketchbook thread in cgtalk which i haven updated for eons.

been freelancing at various stuffs, learnt alot of different stuffs i didnt learn from dmd.
have been really playing quite abit in flash CS3 (except programming side)
so expect my current works to be done in flash.

Currently compiling and researching into her different significant costumes that she has worn. Sorta like a tribute and a present to her since she's slightly active in her own official forum!

nope, to be honest i prefer girls without make up XD
but anyway she dun have that much variations of make up from my researches
slightly made the arms shorter, very slightly actually and this feels alright to me now.

Pronounced as - Ixciel
Let's just say he's a assassin type spellcaster. He wields a Flatblade with his left hand as mostly a defense or as a blunt weapon to knock opponents down.
He uses offensive spell only when it's needed or when he's totally pissed off. Most of the spells he use is to buff himself up.
The Flatblade might look huge but it is actually pretty light for its size. It is also expandable (already expanded in the drawing). It's actually called Flatblade as the top of the blade is literally flat (think of the whole blade as a rectangle).

Elfive is her nickname.
Her real name is Lily Lee Li Li aka 李莉莉
She absolutely hates it but is too young to change her name officially.
Since people call her L5 as a shortform of her full name, she adopted 'Elfive' instead.
She likes to stand with her legs wide apart for God knows what reason.
She can't really be bothered with how messy her hair is but she takes great care to maintain her doll fringe.
She's a game freak and a wireless gamepad is her prized possession.
What's special about her is that she can control her surroundings like how she controls a game with her gamepad for a limited time.
What I mean is, she can pause time temporarily with the start button. Or do a soft reset by pressing select and start button together.
She's also capable of using attacks she have used before in games.
Her speciality is first person shooting game.
Oh.. and most of all, she's a Singaporean.

I've been thinking about this.
We're crazy over american culture, european or japanese or what's not. But rarely do we actually create local characters.
So having that said I decided to create a local singaporean character.
Uniform based on my secondary school's girl uniform.

my friend and i were trying to see if we can come up with a concept to do up a comic
and so i got pretty inspired to draw.
it's been more than eons since i actually try to do something so clean and tidy
it's like i almost forgotten how to clean things up
so this drawing... even though it's nothing much going on
but it actually felt signicant to me while i was doing it.
the desire to draw and create is slowly starting to come back
very refreshing!

actually, you're right...there's so many Japanese (i'm guilty) American location comics...why no Singapore? But personally I find that Singapore is such a cheesy and boring country :( (yes i am not very patriotic especially because of recent political movements ahem). But of course how good a comic is depends on the author's skill to portray it, and i believe u're more than capable, so gambatte! more comics yay! and yes, i totally understand how you feel when when you are inspired once again after a very long dry period. it's so exhilarating and everything on your mind is about drawing and creating..very nice feeling indeed ^o^
anyway on to your drawings, very nice ideas! elfive is so funny XD i can imagine what a hard time she has because of her name. maybe you can give her pointy ears to add on to the play on her name. really cant wait to see what you and your friend will come up with :D

feeling a lil frustrated as I feel as the time past with all the slacking, some things were lost.
trying to find the feeling back.
was trying hard to do an interesting pose but in the end i felt very restricted with what i'm doing
so just randomly drew this without thinking much and erasing much
actually felt quite good even though the arms are kinda long

Great stuff so far, you've got a thing for sultry female characters.:) You might want to relax your drawing hand's shoulder when you draw, it will make it easier to get out curves and complex shapes.

hahaha... most of the time when i concentrate too much i just subconsciously get pretty tensed with my shoulder
but i think i'm getting used to it.

Nice sketches! :) Don't worry about making mistakes when you draw, its all part of the process. Learn from them and keep going on, nothing to fret about.
You might want to also draw out of your comfort zone, lets you experience more aspects of drawing as well as build up your visual libary.

I like #45(the character with the white hair, purple eyes); the shading and flow of the hair is nice.
#51: yes, it does get the point across. Her expression is good. The clavicle area might be a little off, though. ^^
#52: I like the way the lines show the speed of the claws coming.
#53: Ah, what a stern-looking uncle! And with such a big mole too! XD
#54: 1st pic: Love the composition and perspective. Would you be carrying on to line n colour this? 2nd pic: cute. ^^

but i cleared the objective anyway; that's to just draw a blue hair girl XD

i figured i'll just make more mistakes along the way and improve them.
last time i was scared of making mistakes so i dun draw as much but that dun make sense to an artist :D
time to use more references haha
for post 56: the head/body proportion looks off, even for anime style, because to me,the hands are small and short, yet the waist is kinda long, but skinny, and then the butts and legs are pretty short and small, while the head is pretty big in comparison, so overall just kinda looks inconsistent...sorry >.<
But i like the colouring for the hair especially, looks very smooth and silky!
All the other pics are pretty impressive and I like number 53 particularly. gives a pretty rugged feel.

but nevertheless...the whole work is still has a nice feel..

2 pt perspective sketch of my room
i created some basic guidelines b4 going freehand so they should be fairly accurate
idea given by takahan because i told him my perspective is not good.
i think this is a very good practice!
i shall do more views of my room until it comes naturally
i dun think my room is that big and squarish
but i think pretty much nailed down the important details lol
oh and... my house flooring is those old type, alot alot of pattern one, if u drop a 5 cent coin u might have difficulty finding it

i think your anime style is still going strong after your pespective drawings ah...
Nice sketches! The bench painting reminds me of Alma from F.E.A.R ! Argh that dang game still freaks me out now and then. XD.
You might want to check on the hand of the latest pic, seems to be in a very odd angle. If she is puzzled, you can afford to move her eyebrows one up one down. Try playing around with her mouth shapes, a head tilt will also be nice to add in.
Maybe you could get some reference for her posture? There's a very strong vertical line running from her right leg to her right shoulder, makes her very stiff. You can try building on an reversed "S" shaped spine for a female figure, even a slight curve can add alot to a character. At the same time, her left leg is at a very odd angle with her heel raised. You can check a mirror and see how a frotal foot looks.
Nice job on the hair, very flowly. But don't worry too much about her hair though, you can always add it last. Chances are you might get carried away with the hair and loose out on churning out a good shillouette.

wow...the difference is quite big in just 2 months..
the most improvement is the face..more anime like and cuter..
The wind blown action is nice. And the extra lace and ruffles you added is makes the skirt look even prettier. *admires the very natural looking wind-blown skirt plus ruffles*
