First-time book publisher Wiz Pro has managed to penetrate the Taiwan market by securing rights and royalty deals for its publication Discover Professions with Mr Jobbs. The deal, announced at the Frankfurt Book Fair, is estimated to be worth S$50,000.
The National Arts Council of Singapore also had a good start at the fair, connecting with various agencies and publishers from the United Kingdom, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sweden and Latvia. This bodes well in its effort to showcase and create awareness about Singapore writers and literature to the international community.
A delegation, led by the Media Development Authority of Singapore, is at the fair from 15-19 October. They include Asiapac Books, Institute of South East Asian Studies, Wiz Pro, Star Publishing, Experiences and Experiments, Marshall Cavendish Business Information, NUS Press, Pagesetters Services, and the Singapore Book Publishers Association, as well as the National Arts Council of Singapore and IE Singapore.
